Connie in Morocco and Beyond

These are my travel experiences beginning with my Peace Corps service in Morocco from 2006-2008. At the request of friends and my own desire to document, I continued blogging my journeys to other countries as well as in the U. S., including my service as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer in South Africa for most of 2014. This blog will continue as my travel journal.

FROZE-TO-DEATH plateau.

Toughest hike of the year; 13 miles, nearly 4000' elevation gain to a height of 10,000'. Saw this great mountain goat and her baby, plus elk and lots of other wildlife. This is in the Beartooth range, and the hike is from East Rosebud to West Rosebud. The two groups exchange car keys at the top and then we meet for burgers at a popular spot after.
Can anybody tell what this insect is? A moth of some kind? It totally covered this particular wildflower.

My patient hiking partners Mary and Rita, who slowed down to accomodate my pace. The last half of the ascent about did me in...

Hello Connie,
My name is Laura Buffi and I am leaving for Morocco on Sept. 9. Peace Corps-business developer. I have read and re-read parts of your blog which I have found incredibly helpful. Thank you for your posts. You've given me much to think about and answered many of my questions just by writing of your experience. I am hopeful that you might consider an e-mail correspondence with me before I leave. Helpful hints, what to really pack, computer, etc. In any case, I am happy to thank you for what you've offered already.
