NORTH TO ALASKA
A great week-long visit to Juneau to visit my cousin Bill and his wife Charlene. I've changed my profile photo to one taken of me in front of the Mendenhall Glacier located near their house.
Although the weather was much rainier than usual, we did manage a fairly decent day to take a long ferry ride to Pelican, a tiny fishing village, and were fortunate to see this whale breeching.
We also had one sunny day right before I left, and Bill took us out in his home-crafted boat and we saw many whales. It was a grand trip and certainly sparked my interest in returning to this gorgeous state for a much longer visit.
