Connie in Morocco and Beyond

These are my travel experiences beginning with my Peace Corps service in Morocco from 2006-2008. At the request of friends and my own desire to document, I continued blogging my journeys to other countries as well as in the U. S., including my service as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer in South Africa for most of 2014. This blog will continue as my travel journal.

WEDDING BELLS. My youngest daughter Cinda was re-married to Andy Paynter on the 18th. It was a great weekend with lots of relatives present. Have been doing hiking and camping. My daughter Marci and her family were here from IL and my granddaughter from CA also here.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! MORE HIKING...yesterday in the rain.
Flexibility, the name of the game. The intended destination was thwarted by ominous clouds, dirt road, and my light, low clearance car. Eleven of us left town, three to day hike and eight backpackers. So we dayhikers bailed part way up and did another trek, this one twice as steep, so although it was only five miles round trip, we got a pretty good aerobic workout, and several good "natural" showers.
But it was beautiful and we enjoyed it immensely. Here's my daughter Cinda and friend Rita by the lake LOTS of water in the stream! No shortage of snow in the mountains this year.
We ended the evening with a good baseball game; the Billings Mustangs are a farm team of the Cincinnati Reds, and although they've been on a losing streak, last night the loss was 6-5, so it was fun to watch.

THREE CUPS OF TEA...Then two cups, then one cup, now no cups. Recall that I blogged recently about the great book of Mortenson's and the mid-Eastern culture he's working in? Here I am full bore back in the business world...but I will NOT relinquish my priorities of taking time for people...however, until I get my feet on the ground and July activities behind me, is sure going to be a bit crazy. But fun crazy, with kids and grandkids! Am heading for the hills (well, mountains) again this week and one full day of cards this weekend. Ah, life IS good!
