RED LODGE CAMPING

HERE MOOSEY, MOOSEY.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Went camping on Rock Creek near Red Lodge and passed a moose on the way to the campsite.















Went up Beartooth Pass (spectacular drive; goes to Yellowstone Park) and in the background of this photo is the "Bear's Tooth".

FROZE-TO-DEATH plateau.

Toughest hike of the year; 13 miles, nearly 4000' elevation gain to a height of 10,000'. Saw this great mountain goat and her baby, plus elk and lots of other wildlife. This is in the Beartooth range, and the hike is from East Rosebud to West Rosebud. The two groups exchange car keys at the top and then we meet for burgers at a popular spot after.
Can anybody tell what this insect is? A moth of some kind? It totally covered this particular wildflower.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH. This is Castle Reef, west of Augusta.
My cousin Bill Schrader and his wife. He grew up in Augusta and is now living in Juneau, but retains his home place in Montana. We had a great hike back of Gibson Dam.

A NEW
ADVENTURE.
Went from
the Flathead
area to Great Falls and was treated to a kayak trip with my friend Martha and her husband who shuttled us and took photos. Since I was a novice, we stayed in calm waters and just floated a little more than an hour. Fun!
